Onboarding new engineers to a large codebase takes weeks because there is no good way to understand the history of decisions — why certain patterns were chosen, what was refactored and why, which parts of the code are stable vs. actively changing. A tool that turns commit history and PR descriptions into an interactive narrative timeline would cut onboarding time dramatically.
